Store Support Teams
Flexible short-term teams for openings, refits and one-off retail projects.
Some jobs are simply too big for the store team, and too short-lived to justify hiring. Store opening, a refit, a major reorganisation, an unexpected backlog — all need a lot of hands for a short window, and then don't need them at all.
What store support teams provide
Flexible teams assembled for a specific short-term project: new store setup and fit-out support, refit assistance, one-off large-scale resets, post-refit reinstatement, seasonal surge cover, and general project support where the store's own team can't absorb the workload. Team size is scaled to the job rather than fixed.
Why short-term projects break normal staffing
Retail staffing is built around predictable weekly patterns. Projects aren't predictable — they're a spike. Covering a spike with permanent headcount means paying for capacity you don't need most of the year. Covering it with overtime burns goodwill and often isn't enough anyway. Covering it by pulling staff from other stores creates a problem somewhere else.
The result is usually that projects get done slowly, by tired people, around their normal duties — which is why store openings and refits so often overrun.
Benefits for retailers
- Capacity exactly when needed. A team sized to the job, for the duration of the job, and no longer.
- No permanent cost. No recruitment, no contracts, no redundancy conversation when the project ends.
- Your existing team stays on their actual job. Trading continues normally rather than everything being sacrificed to the project.
- Projects finish on schedule. Dedicated resource with a defined deadline, rather than work squeezed into gaps.
- Short notice is workable. Openings get delayed and refits overrun; teams can often be arranged quickly when dates move.
Benefits for brands
- Launch and activation support at scale. Temporary capacity across multiple stores simultaneously, rather than sequentially.
- Consistent execution. One supplier briefed once, rather than each store interpreting instructions differently.
What's included as standard
Every store support booking includes a vetted team briefed on the project before arrival, on-site coordination so the team manages itself rather than needing your staff to supervise, a fixed quote agreed before work starts, photographic evidence of completed work, and a written completion report.
How we scope a project
Short-term projects vary far more than routine merchandising, so we start from what you actually need: the deadline, the scale, and what "done" looks like. From there we size the team and confirm a fixed price before anything begins. For multi-day projects we keep the same team on the job wherever possible, because a team that already knows the site on day three is considerably more productive than a new one.
Who this is for
Retailers opening a new store, running a refit, or facing a one-off project beyond their team's capacity. Brands running a coordinated activation across multiple sites. Any operation with a hard deadline and not enough hands to meet it.

We agree a fixed price before any work starts, based on store count, team size, hours and travel. You will not receive a surprise hourly bill.
The quoted price is fixed regardless of how long the job actually takes, provided the scope has not changed. If something on site means the brief needs to change, we agree that with you before continuing.
Both. We work with single-store independents, regional chains, and brands needing work done in stores they do not operate themselves.

Yes, all team members carry identification and wear clothing appropriate to the job and store requirements, which we can confirm with you before the visit.
Yes. We work from whatever brief, planogram or standards document you provide rather than a generic template, so the output matches your specific requirements.
A minimum charge applies to any single booking to cover the fixed costs of a visit, but there is no minimum store count or contract length beyond that.
Both. Many clients start with a one-off job and move to a regular arrangement once they see how it works; others book one-off support as needed.
This depends on team size and notice given, but we regularly support store openings and refits at relatively short notice — get in touch with your dates and we will confirm what is possible.
